An American whiskey distillery from West Virginia ventured into rum for once and found two Jamaican rums from 1990 and 1985 respectively, which blended together yield an average age of 28 years.

    Expert Description

Smooth Ambler 1990 Revelation is a Jamaica Rum, a blend of column still and pot still distillates with an average age of 28 years, bottled at 49.5%.

The rum was assembled by Smooth Ambler Spirits, the American distillery in West Virginia founded in 2009, primarily known for whiskey, for which this release was their first rum bottling. The blend consists of 75% column still-distilled rum from 1990 and 25% pot still-distilled rum from 1985, with the youngest content being at least 23 years old. The rum is bottled without additives and was a limited release, not to be reissued once sold out.

The result is an intense, tropical rum, where mango and coconut meet a meaty, complex body.
