Costa Rica is not the first country that comes to mind when the talk turns to rum. Ron Centenario has spent 25 years of solera maturation changing that.
Expert description
Ron Centenario Gran Reserva 25 Years is a Rum from Costa Rica, matured up to 25 years using the solera method in white oak casks and bottled at 40%.
The rum is the house's flagship and matures through the Sistema Solera, a system of tiered stacked casks where older rum continuously replenishes the younger barrels. This produces a rum that unites fresh fruitiness with the complexity only many years of ageing can provide. Ron Centenario has over decades made Costa Rica a respected name in the rum world, despite the country's lack of a long historical production tradition.
