Samhain Series – a limited release of six single-cask Scotch whiskies. The series celebrates Scotland’s rich folklore and eerie mythology, coinciding with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, the precursor to modern Halloween.

Each whisky in the Samhain Series tells a story through local legends, with atmospheric labels designed by Edinburgh-based artist and designer Steven Shand, who has over 13 years of experience in the Scottish whisky industry. Shand’s intricate artwork and storytelling complement the atmospheric whiskies and capture a haunting essence of Scotland’s past.

Each bottle is sourced from distilleries in the Speyside, Highland, and Lowland regions. As with all Lady of the Glen releases, the Samhain Series is hand-bottled, undiluted at natural cask strength, free of chill-filtration, and retains its natural color, preserving the purity of the whisky.

Lady of the Glen has wanted to collaborate with Steven since they saw his contemporary illustration of Tam O’Shanter at the Fife Whisky Festival. His use of color and detail was both a feast for the eyes and unsettling in a good way. They decided to celebrate Scotland’s Samhain festival by pairing richly illustrated Scottish stories with distilleries from the same regions. For the series, they selected some of their finest 40-liter octaves to highlight a wide range of rich flavors that would stand out just like the stories themselves.

Scallywag The Winter Edition 2024 Orange Wine Cask is a festive and characterful release from Douglas Laing – created to capture the spirit of winter with warmth, fruitiness and a touch of something delightfully unexpected. As always, Scallywag is a Speyside‑based blended malt, but this winter edition stands out thanks to its finishing period in casks that previously held orange wine. This imparts a unique aromatic profile with both spicy and fresh citrus‑driven nuances.

On the nose, you’re met with orange zest, honey, malt and warm winter spices, followed by light floral notes and a vinous freshness from the orange wine casks. The palate is full‑bodied and lively, offering flavours of sweet orange, vanilla, caramel, dried fruit and a hint of ginger and cinnamon. The high strength of 53.9% adds intensity and depth, yet the whisky retains its soft, Speyside‑typical charm. The finish is long, warm and gently spiced, with citrus oil, malt and an elegant dryness from the wine casks.

Scarabus Batch Strength Whisky Hunter Laing Single Islay Malt Whisky 57%

There's a bottle on Islay nobody will name a name for. Behind the bronze label with its hidden symbols sits a peated dram, born to mark the opening of Hunter Laing's own distillery, Ardnahoe. Scarabus means "a rocky place" in Old Norse - and that's about as much as the Laing family are willing to give away.

Scarabus Cigar Malt is a peated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, fully matured across Oloroso sherry casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and Ruby Port casks, and bottled at 46%.

Scarabus Cigar Malt is the newest addition to Hunter Laing's Scarabus collection, and it stands apart from the other expressions through its cask composition. Where the original bottling sticks to a more classic maturation, Cigar Malt is matured simultaneously across three cask types - Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez and Ruby Port - each layering something different on top of the signature Islay peat. The source distillery is undisclosed, as is tradition across the whole Scarabus range, though the depth of the smoke and the oily texture hint at one of the island's better-known peated producers.

The name Cigar Malt is no accident. The whisky is built to hold its own against a bold cigar without either one drowning the other out - cocoa, roasted notes and a persistent smokiness give it the weight for it.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Rich and generous with candied orange peel, stewed red berries and almonds, while an earthy peat works through underneath.

Palate

Dry peat smoke layers with dark treacle, dark fruit and a gentle, toasted sweetness from the casks.

Finish

Long and warming, with a rounded sweetness that lingers well after the last sip.

Speyside (M) 2011/2024 Signatory Vintage 12 Year Old is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2024 by independent bottler Signatory Vintage. Matured in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 48.2% as part of Signatory's Small Batch series, Edition #11. The distillery behind the malt is Macallan — one of Speyside's most acclaimed names, whose fruity and sherry-driven character here expresses itself on Signatory's own terms.

An independent bottling like this provides access to an expression that does not necessarily follow the distillery's own brand or house style. This is the Macallan character seen from the outside — a different experience from opening a bottle from the official range.

Tasting Notes

Nose

A textbook sherry bomb with bags of raisins, figs, nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. Dark sugar, walnut and golden syrup. Bright cherry top notes.

Palate

Dried fruits lead with raisins and dried plums. More oak than the nose with notes of charcoal and dark chocolate. Cherry and sherry-soaked orange zest.

Finish

Medium to long finish with dark fruits and gentle oak bitterness. The sherry cask's deep imprint lingers for a considerable time.

Speyside Distillery Not Secret 2009 Little Brown Dog 16 Year Old Sherry Hoggie Single Speyside Malt Whisky 54.2%

Little Brown Dog presents an exciting and characterful bottling from Speyside Distillery – a whisky playfully named “Not Secret”. Many whisky lovers hear the name Speyside Distillery and immediately think: “Yes, but which one?” Here, however, there are no secrets – just pure, well-aged Speyside single malt packed with personality.

This 16-year-old whisky was distilled on June 25th, 2009, and bottled on February 13th, 2026, at a robust 54.2% ABV. Matured in a refill American oak sherry hogshead, it demonstrates just how elegant and vibrant a refill cask can become over time. The result is a brighter, fresher sherry profile where the distillery character still shines through beautifully.

The colour is deep cedar wood, while the nose opens with a fascinating combination of pomegranate, paprika, and the aroma of a freshly opened box of crayons – a nostalgic and creative character that makes this whisky truly unique.

On the palate, notes of red currant, artichoke, and an elegant wine-like tone reminiscent of Sancerre white wine create a beautifully balanced profile of sweetness, fruitiness, and dry sophistication. The finish develops into liquorice and playful hints of fizz wizz popping candy, delivering a sparkling and almost electric finale.

The label design pays tribute to the snow leopard from the wildlife park near the distillery in Kingussie – a striking and distinctive motif that perfectly matches the whisky’s wild and individual personality.

Only 317 bottles were produced, making this an excellent choice for collectors and whisky enthusiasts looking for something a little different from the Speyside region.

Springbank 10 Year Old is a Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled at Springbank, matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks and bottled at 46%.

Springbank 10 Year Old has become increasingly hard to find as the distillery's strict allocations limit how much reaches Danish shelves. The whisky carries all of Springbank's hallmarks: the unique 2.5 times distillation, floor-malted barley and an oily, complex style found nowhere else in Scotland.

Nose

Heather honey, ripe pears and pepper blend with a hint of oyster shell and sea air.

Palate

Peaches in syrup meet salty umami notes, light peat smoke and a touch of soot.
