  • Bottle of Pierre Chavin Zero alcohol-free sparkling rosé wine
    Item no.: 22227865479-2021-09-0012

A beautiful salmon-coloured sparkling wine with fine bubbles and a floral aroma, also tempting with hints of redcurrant, raspberry and nutmeg, while soft, creamy and fresh on the palate - and practically entirely without alcohol.

    Expert's Description

Pierre Chavin Zero Sparkling Rosé is an alcohol-free Rosé Wine from France, made from a blend of Chardonnay and Merlot with an alcohol content of 0%. Domaines Pierre Chavin was founded in 2010 by Mathilde Boulachin in Béziers in Languedoc-Roussillon, with a name deliberately built around the French word "vin" (wine). Like the house's other Zero wines, this one is first produced in the traditional way and then undergoes a gentle dealcoholisation process that removes the alcohol at low temperature, preserving the aroma and structure of the original rosé.

    Expert's Description

Pierre Chavin Zero Sparkling is an alcohol-free Sparkling Wine from France, made from Chardonnay with an alcohol content of 0.5%. Domaines Pierre Chavin was founded in 2010 by Mathilde Boulachin in Béziers in Languedoc-Roussillon, and the name was chosen deliberately - Pierre is the most common first name in France, and Chavin is built around the word "vin" (wine). The wine is first produced as regular sparkling wine and then undergoes a gentle low-temperature dealcoholisation process, typically using vacuum distillation or a spinning cone column, which removes the alcohol while preserving the aroma, texture and complexity of the original wine.

    Tasting Notes

  • Bottle of salmon-pink alcohol-free sparkling rosé from Pierre Chavin
    Item no.: 2222-09-003

Pierre Chavin has specialised in something that sounds like a contradiction: sparkling wine without alcohol that still fizzes for real. Zero Signature goes through genuine fermentation before the alcohol is removed again at low temperature.

    Expert's Description

Pierre Chavin Zero Signature is a Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Rosé from Domaine Pierre Chavin in France made from the Chardonnay and Merlot grapes, with an alcohol content of 0%.

The wine is vinified in the traditional way and undergoes a genuine second fermentation that gives fine, persistent bubbles, before the alcohol is removed at low temperature through vacuum evaporation. The method is gentle and preserves the floral and fruity aromas, with no added sugar or preservatives.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Floral aroma with a lovely salmon-pink hue.

    Palate

Crisp and elegantly fruity, with notes of raspberry, apple and citrus.

    Finish

Fresh notes of lemon zest playing beautifully alongside the influence of chalk - Piper-Heidsieck Essential Blanc de Blancs is a cuvée that speaks directly to the house's roots in Champagne's finest chalky soils.

    Expert's Description

Piper-Heidsieck Essential Blanc de Blancs is a Champagne from France, made from 100% Chardonnay with an alcohol content of 12%. The Champagne house was founded in 1785 by Florens-Louis Heidsieck in Reims with the dream of creating a cuvée worthy of a queen - a dream fulfilled when he presented his first cuvée to Queen Marie Antoinette. The name Piper was added in 1839, when Henri-Guillaume Piper became a partner in the house. The Essentiel range is made in limited quantities from grapes selected across around 50 crus in Champagne, with 35% reserve wines that give the cuvée extra depth and complexity.

  • Two Riedel Extreme crystal glasses for rosé and Champagne on a table
    Item no.: 22227865489-26-4441-55

Designing one glass that works for both a dry rosé and a lively glass of Champagne isn't a simple brief. Riedel solved it with a single shape in the Extreme collection.

    The Expert's Description

The Riedel Extreme Rosé/Champagne 4441/55 is a machine-blown glass in crystal glass from Riedel, designed for both rosé wine and Champagne in the same bowl shape. It's an unusual solution within the Extreme collection, where most glasses are shaped for a single grape variety, but here Riedel chose a form that supports both the fresh fruit of a rosé and the bubbles in a glass of Champagne. If you're after the bubbles to go with it, take a look at our range of Champagne & Sparkling Wine.

    Design & Material

The bowl is narrower than the red wine glasses in the collection but wider than a classic Champagne flute, giving space to both the fruit of a rosé and the bubbles of a Champagne without either drink losing out. The glass is machine-blown crystal glass, giving a consistent weight and thickness.

    Use & Recommendation

Use the glass for dry rosé wines, where the fruit needs to come through clearly, or for Champagne and other sparkling wine, when you want a glass with a bit more bowl than a traditional flute. It's dishwasher safe, making it easy to use both every day and for celebrations.

    Did You Know?

Designing one glass for two drinks as different as still rosé and sparkling Champagne is a balancing act - too much bowl, and the bubbles fade too fast; too little, and the rosé's aromas don't get room to open. The shape of this glass is Riedel's answer to that balance.

  • Hand-blown Riedel Sommeliers tulip-shaped champagne glass
    Item no.: 22227865489-2-4400-28

A mature, vintage-dated champagne behaves differently from a fresh bottle from this year. Riedel has shaped this glass for exactly that character – a tulip form that holds on to the bubbles without smothering the complex, mature notes.

    The Expert's Description

The Riedel Sommeliers Vintage Champagne 4400/28 is a hand-blown champagne glass from the Austrian glassmaker Riedel's Sommeliers line, made from crystal glass. Unlike the wider Sparkling model in the same line, the Vintage Champagne glass is shaped as a tall, narrow tulip, built specifically for vintage champagne. Bubbles rise more slowly in a tulip shape than in a flat coupe, giving the mature, complex aromas more time to unfold. Take a look at our range of Champagne & Sparkling if you need the bottle.

    Design & Material

The tall, narrow tulip shape is hand-blown with a slight taper at the top that holds the bubbles longer than an open coupe would. The stem is drawn long so your hand doesn't warm the champagne unnecessarily.

    Use & Recommendation

The glass is built for mature, vintage-dated champagne, where the complex notes need a tulip shape that holds on to the bubbles. Always wash by hand in warm water, never in a dishwasher – the hand-blown crystal is too thin for machine washing.

    Specifications

Name: Riedel Sommeliers Vintage Champagne 4400/28 - 1 pc.

    Care: Hand Wash Recommended

    Did You Know?

The wide flute many people associate with Champagne is actually a fairly recent phenomenon – the tulip shape this glass is built on is older and was originally the preferred form for bringing out a champagne's complex aromas.
