This Limited Edition is the sequel and final installment in the trilogy. Here they are listed in order

Big Peat 25 years The Gold Edition, released in 2017 at 52.1% Alc.

Big Peat 26 years The Platinum Edition released in 2018

Big Peat 27 years The Black Edition released in 2019 at 48.3% Alc.

The last in the series is bottled at 48.3% without any caramel addition or chill filtration. Big Peat's Black Edition is described as "complex amalgam of barbequed meats, coal dust and rock salt".

Branded Big Peat was born in 2009 and has therefore celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019 with a super delicious 10-year bottling with only 5100 bottles produced for the entire world - the regular Big Peat is usually ageless.

About Douglas Laing:

Douglas Laing & Co. was founded in 1948 by Douglas Morton Verindor Laing (born 1912) who was primarily in the shipping business - first generation, Fred Douglas Laing born in 1912 and died in 1984, aged just 72. He built the company from scratch and made sure both his sons were trained in the business.

The sons who make up the second generation of whisky merchants are Fred & Stewart Laing and ran the company together for many years, releasing many delicious bottlings in various series, including Old Malt Cask, Provenance, The Premier Barrel In 2013 they split the company and Fred Laing has brought the third generation into the company, Cara Laing. Fred's brother Stewart Laing started theHunter La ing company with his two sons Scott and Andrew.
