  Renegade Cane Rum Etudes Pearls is a Grenadian Agricole-style Rum distilled on a pot still and bottled at 55%.

  The rum is distilled from fresh sugarcane juice of the Yellow Lady variety, grown on Renegade Rum Distillery's own fields in Grenada. After distillation, the rum matures in a combination of 50% first-fill American oak, 32% virgin American oak and 18% premium French oak, giving it a beautiful amber colour and increased aromatic depth. The Études series is Renegade's study of single-varietal sugarcane, with Pearls representing the Yellow Lady grape specifically.

  This is the column-distilled edition of Renegade's Dunfermline farm, the only truly inland farm the distillery works with, known for its Lacalome Red cane variety and its unusually powerful, grounded character. Where the pot still version delivers a thick and chewy profile, column distillation streamlines the distillate into a cleaner, more precise expression of the farm's terroir, without losing the mineral depth that defines the site.

  The result is a clear, focused unaged rum that shows a different facet of the same farm compared to its pot still sibling.

  Renegade Single Farm Origin Pre Cask New Bacolet is a Grenada Rum, an unaged pot still rum distilled from fresh sugar cane juice from a single field, New Bacolet, bottled at 50%.

  As with the house's other Pre Cask releases, the aim is to show how each individual field on Renegade's terroir map leaves a distinct mark on the finished distillate. New Bacolet sits close to Old Bacolet, but the soil conditions and microclimate differ, giving the rum a fresher, more floral profile than its sister from the clay-rich flood plain.

  The result is a clean, delicate rum with notes of ripe stone fruit and a light salty undertone, more reminiscent of a quality white wine than a traditional rum.

  Renegade Single Farm Origin Pre Cask Old Bacolet is a Grenada Rum, an unaged pot still rum distilled from fresh sugar cane juice from a single farm, Old Bacolet, harvested in 2020 and bottled at 50%.

  Renegade Rum Distillery was founded by Mark Reynier, former owner of Bruichladdich and founder of Waterford Distillery, who brought his whisky philosophy of terroir to Grenada. The "Pre Cask" releases show the rum as it is straight from the still, without cask influence, to highlight how a single farm's soil, climate and location shape the flavour. Old Bacolet sits between two rivers on a clay-rich flood plain, a location that Renegade says has a huge influence on the finished distillate.

  The result is a fresh, vegetal rum that shows the pure character of the sugar cane without wood's interference.

  From a field called "Grapefruit" on the Flats terroir comes this release, where the elegant Yellow Lady cane variety gives the rum an almost oily fullness.

  Renegade Single Farm Origin Pre Cask Pearls is a Grenada Rum, an unaged pot still rum distilled from fresh sugar cane juice of the Yellow Lady variety from a single field in the Pearls area, bottled at 50%.

  Like the other Pre Cask releases from Renegade Rum Distillery, this bottle shows the rum straight from the still without cask influence, letting the field's pure character shine through. The cane was harvested from the field locally known as "Grapefruit", located on the Flats terroir, one of the areas Renegade tracks most closely in its work mapping how soil and location shape flavour. Only 1,632 bottles of this limited release were produced.

  The result is a clear, oily and full-bodied rum with a distinct olive and pepper character reminiscent of a well-made agricole from Martinique.

  Renegade Rum Distillery was founded in 2015 by Mark Reynier, who previously led the acclaimed Waterford distillery in Ireland and made terroir a central concept in whisky. On Grenada, he applies the same philosophy to rum, where the Pre Cask series, launched in winter 2021, highlights unaged rum from single farms to show the cane's pure character without cask influence. Dunfermline is the only truly inland farm the distillery works with, situated on the slopes of the St Andrews mountains in northeastern Grenada, and differs from the more coastal fields by delivering big, bold flavours.
