Mark Reynier, the man behind the Waterford distillery in Ireland, moved his terroir obsession to Grenada and now lets the cane from a single mountain farm speak entirely for itself, with no cask ageing at all.
Expert Description
Renegade Single Farm Origin Pre Cask Pot Still Dunfermline P1 is a Grenada Rum, distilled from fresh sugar cane juice from the Dunfermline farm and bottled unaged at 50%.
Renegade Rum Distillery was founded in 2015 by Mark Reynier, who previously led the acclaimed Waterford distillery in Ireland and made terroir a central concept in whisky. On Grenada, he applies the same philosophy to rum, where the Pre Cask series, launched in winter 2021, highlights unaged rum from single farms to show the cane's pure character without cask influence. Dunfermline is the only truly inland farm the distillery works with, situated on the slopes of the St Andrews mountains in northeastern Grenada, and differs from the more coastal fields by delivering big, bold flavours.
The result is a chewy and remarkably complex unaged rum that shows the cane's raw power without filter.
