Whitley Neill Miniature Rhubarb & Ginger Gin is an English Handcrafted Dry Gin, bottled at 43%.
The gin is distilled with ten botanicals, including juniper, angelica root, cassia bark, coriander seed, lemon, liquorice, orris root and sweet orange, joined by rhubarb and ginger.
After the war, the Whitley family lived in the countryside near Daresbury, where they cultivated their garden with exciting flavours that later inspired the family's gin experiments.
This 5cl miniature makes it easy to try the fresh rhubarb and ginger flavour before committing to a full bottle.
Tasting notes
Nose
The nose has prominent juniper followed by a noticeably sweet, fruity aroma.
Palate
The palate opens with a light ginger-spiced warmth, after which the unmistakable rhubarb flavour comes through, backed by sweet orange and a touch of herbaceousness.
Finish
The finish is fruity and spiced, with lingering notes of rhubarb preserve and juniper.
