Named after the Greenbrier Valley of West Virginia, this gin was crafted to break away from the tight, piney style often associated with British gin.
Expert's description
Smooth Ambler Greenbrier Gin is an American Small Batch Gin distilled by Smooth Ambler Spirits and bottled at 49.5%.
The gin is quadruple-distilled from a mashbill of 68% corn, 16% wheat and 16% malted barley, the same recipe the distillery uses for its vodka.
Botanicals such as juniper, coriander seed, cardamom, angelica root, orange peel, lemon peel and black pepper are added via vapor infusion, giving it a gentler, rounder character than many traditional British gins.
The result is a gin without the heavy, piney note that often defines classic British gin, offering instead a warmer, more spiced profile.
