Five different cask types and rums between 8 and 25 years old meet in one bottle – an unusually intricate puzzle for a Ron de Guatemala.

    Expert description

Ron Botran Rare Blend Guatemalan Oak is a Ron de Guatemala, blended from rums matured between 8 and 25 years and bottled at 40%.

Rare Blend is dynamically matured across five different cask types: American Whiskey oak, toasted American Whiskey oak, sherry casks, port casks and Guatemalan oak. This combination of cask types, together with the broad age spread, gives the rum an unusually layered complexity, where the Guatemalan oak in particular contributes a deep, distinctive wood note not found in the house's other releases.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Deep wood aroma characteristic of Guatemalan oak, with hints of vanilla, nuts, dried fruit and spice.

    Palate

Intense toasted oak with delicate notes of vanilla, caramel and spice.

    Finish

Long, lightly spiced finish with fruit, nuts and cinnamon.
