Mosgaard 8 Year Oloroso Cask from the series “7 Sister Casks” is an organic single malt whisky that tells the story of dedication and long‑term craftsmanship from Mosgaard Distillery in Denmark. In 2017, the distillery selected and rebuilt seven old Oloroso sherry casks – originally 30–40 years old – into 140‑liter maturation casks, which were then filled with their New Spirit. The goal was to create a unique whisky collection with longer ageing than the usual quarter casks.

The whisky is bottled at cask strength, 58.2%, and offers a complex flavour profile with intense notes of dark fruits, spices, oak and minerals. It has structure and depth, and is described as both powerful and balanced – with a texture reminiscent of well‑aged balsamic vinegar.

The casks have been part of the journey from the beginning: from Mosgaard’s original warehouse to the new location in Kolding in 2025. The series represents the distillery’s growth and vision – with one “sister” released each year leading up to 12 years of maturation. A Danish whisky that combines local care with international quality. 7 Sisters Oloroso Cask was awarded category winner in Small Batch Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards 2025.
