Mosgaard 8 Year Oloroso Cask 7 Sister Casks is an organic Danish Single Malt Whisky bottled at 58.2% from Mosgaard Distillery in Odense. The whisky has been matured for 8 years on Oloroso sherry casks as part of the 7 Sister Casks concept – a series where seven casks of the same type are bottled together as a batch, giving greater consistency and depth than a single cask alone. Oloroso is a dry sherry cask with a rich, nutty and fruity character, and 8 years of maturation gives this cask ample opportunity to integrate with the organic Funen distillate. Bottled in 50 cl format.

Tasting notes

Nose

Rich Oloroso sherry sweetness with dried fruits, walnut and dark caramel. Eight years of cask integration delivers a well-balanced, complex nose.

Palate

Full-bodied and round at 58.2% with the sherry cask's dark fruit and nutty character at the centre. Dried plums, figs and a warm oak spiciness. A drop of water is recommended.

Finish

Long and lasting with dry Oloroso sherry and light oak tannin.
