About Monin Syrup Liqueur

Monin is the world's most widely used syrup brand and a fixture behind every serious bar, café or cocktail station. History & background

The company was founded in 1912 in Bourges, central France, by the Monin family, who started out producing fruit syrups for the local market. Through the 20th century Monin grew from a regional producer into a global player as coffee and cocktail culture spread, and today the syrups are exported to over 150 countries. The company is still based in Bourges and has held onto its position as market leader through constant expansion of the range.

Production & style

The syrups are made by dissolving sugar and natural flavourings, often from real fruit, in water, a relatively simple process whose complexity lies in hitting the same flavour profile, bottle after bottle, year after year. Most of Monin's syrups are alcohol-free, making them just as suited to mocktails and coffee drinks as to classic cocktails.
