In 1761, Thomas Dakin built a distillery on Bridge Street in Warrington. Over 260 years later, gin is still being distilled on that same site, making it the oldest continuously operating gin distillery in England.
Expert's description
Greenall's Original London Dry Gin is an English London Dry Gin distilled from 100% British wheat and bottled at 37.5%.
The distillery changed hands in 1860, when Gilbert and John Greenall took over the lease of Dakin's distillery, and the Greenall family name has remained on the bottle ever since.
Today the gin is distilled by G&J Distillers in Birchwood near Warrington, where eight hand-picked botanicals, including juniper, coriander seed and citrus peels, create a clean, balanced London Dry character.
The recipe is overseen by Master Distiller Joanne Moore, one of the most celebrated female distillers in the British gin industry, and her style still shapes production at the distillery today.
