The gin comes from Ahascragh Distillery in County Galway, founded by husband-and-wife team Michelle and Gareth McAllister. The base is a juniper-led dry gin with fresh citrus notes of orange peel and lemongrass, meeting the exotic Asian fruit persimmon.

An earthy, herbaceous undertone of dill and a spiced warmth of cinnamon tie the two worlds together, giving the gin its distinctive, exotic profile.

On the tiny island of Årø in the Little Belt, where vineyards meet salt marsh, sits Årø Vingård. The winemakers here paired their grapes with juniper and wild coastal herbs to create a summery gin grown from their own soil.

Årø Vingård Sommergin is a Danish Gin traditionally distilled at the vineyard's own facility and bottled at 42%.

Årø Vingård has made wine on this small island in Haderslev Fjord since 2004. When they set out to find their own gin botanicals, they consulted local nature guides about what actually grows wild on Årø Kalv, a tiny islet just off the main island.

Juniper forms the classic backbone, while liquorice root and coriander seed add warmth and depth. Sea rocket from the salt marshes lends a light peppery lift, and rosehip leaves round the flavour off with a soft floral note.

The result is a soft, summery gin with a clear sense of place, made by people who know this island's nature better than most.

Scapegrace Twinpack Gift Set Premium Dry Gin contains two sets of Scapegrace's award-winning gin in miniature format. Scapegrace was founded in 2014 in New Zealand by brothers-in-law Daniel McLaughlin and Mark Neal together with Richard Bourke, united by a shared dream of making their own gin. The gin is distilled at the foot of New Zealand's Southern Alps on a 19th-century whisky still that was found in a long-abandoned shed. The brand was originally called Rogue Society, but was renamed Scapegrace in 2017 after entering the European market and running into a naming conflict with a similarly named brewery. Scapegrace Gin was named the world's best London Dry Gin at the International Wine & Spirits Competition in 2018.
