  Emperor Private Collection Mauritius Rum Chateau Pape Clement Finish is a Mauritius Rum, a blend of older rums distilled from both fresh sugar cane juice and molasses, finished in casks from Château Pape Clément in Bordeaux and bottled at 42%.

  Emperor, named after the British king George V, who as Emperor of India was also linked to Mauritius as a British colony, is known for its well-balanced blends of Mauritian rum. This Private Collection release is the house's first in a series of experimental cask finishes, using casks from Château Pape Clément, a Grand Cru Classé estate in Bordeaux, to add an extra layer of winey complexity to the rum.

  The result is a rich, full-bodied rum with notes of red berries, toasted oak and a lightly smoky finish.

  Emperor Rum Sherry Finish is a Mauritian Blended Rum matured for 5-12 years and bottled at 40%.

  The rum is a blend of rum made from both fresh sugarcane juice (40%) and molasses (60%), matured for 5 to 12 years in American and French oak casks, before undergoing a final six-month finish in sherry casks before bottling. This dual approach to the raw material, combined with the sherry finish, gives the rum a rich golden colour with a reddish copper sheen and a complex, sherry-driven character.

  Nose

  Complex with raisins, roasted nuts, vanilla and a hint of sherry, complemented by red fruits, woody and floral tones as well as an earthy sweetness of dried red fruits, sweet fig and orange marmalade.

  Palate
