In Saint-Preuil, in the heart of Grande Champagne, the Bouju family still runs their small distillery, bottling cognac in accessible sizes without compromising on craft. This 35 cl bottle is a small, concentrated taste of the house.
Expert's Description
Daniel Bouju Sélection Spécial is a French Cognac from Grande Champagne, aged in new Limousin oak casks and bottled at 40%.
The house of Daniel Bouju is a small family business founded in 1805 in Saint-Preuil, holding 25 hectares of vineyards at the very heart of the Cognac region. Production still takes place in the original farmhouse, where the cognac is distilled on a 16.5-hectolitre still.
Sélection Spécial is made exclusively from Ugni Blanc grapes and carries the house's signature: a dark, refined character with no added caramel colouring, its flavour drawn purely from natural cask ageing.

Did You Know?
Did you know that the entire production at Daniel Bouju takes place on a single small 16.5-hectolitre still? That is a fraction of what the large Cognac houses distil on, but it results in a very hands-on craft from grape to bottle.
