Dog L is an Imperial Stout at 10.1% from the Scottish brewery BrewDog, the twelfth release in the brewery's ongoing "Dog" series. The beer is aged in barrels that previously held cognac and maple syrup, adding distinct layers of vanilla, caramel and a rich, sweet orange note on top of the already full-bodied base of coffee, dark chocolate and roasted nuts.
BrewDog was founded in 2007 in Fraserburgh, Scotland, by James Watt and Martin Dickie, and has since grown into one of the world's most well-known craft breweries - known for both experimental recipes and a loud, provocative marketing profile. The Dog series is the brewery's platform for testing new barrel combinations on its heaviest imperial stout base.
