From the same 2009 distillate, but moved into moscatel casks, where the wine's sweet grape character clearly rubs off on the rum.

    Expert description

Ron Cristobal Santa Maria Moscatel Finish is a Rum from the Dominican Republic, distilled in 2009 and finished in ex-moscatel casks, bottled at 43%.

The rum starts from the same 2009 distillate that forms the base of the entire Santa Maria series, but after the initial bourbon cask maturation it is moved into casks that previously held moscatel, a sweet Spanish white wine. This finish adds a clear wine fruitiness that sets it markedly apart from the house's other editions.
