Cask number 8 from the Foursquare distillery gave RomDeLuxe just 248 bottles, each of them filled with coconut, marzipan and chocolate at a strength untamed by a single drop of water.
Expert Description
RomDeLuxe Wild Series Rum #25 Barbados Single Cask is a Barbados Rum, distilled at the Foursquare distillery in December 2007 and aged 14 years, bottled at 62.3%.
The rum is distilled from molasses and aged in ex-bourbon American oak casks, first in Barbados's tropical climate and later continued in Denmark. RomDeLuxe selected cask number 8 for its Wild Series and bottled it at cask strength in March 2022, yielding only 248 numbered bottles. Compared to the house's more streamlined Collectors Series releases, the Wild Series line is characterised by a rawer, more immediate approach to the distillate's natural power.
The result is a full-bodied, tropical rum where coconut and marzipan take centre stage alongside a pleasant, natural sweetness.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Coconut at the centre, elegantly joined by marzipan and chocolate, with a balanced natural sweetness.
Palate
Full-bodied with the same coconut and marzipan notes as on the nose, supported by gentle woodiness.
Finish
Medium length with persistent chocolate and a soft, woody conclusion.
