Riedel Veritas Cabernet / Merlot is a set of two machine-blown red wine glasses from the Austrian glassmaking house Riedel, made from crystal glass and shaped specifically for full-bodied Bordeaux-style reds such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Veritas is Riedel's newest machine-blown collection and also its thinnest to date - the goal was to get as close to hand-blown precision as a machine possibly can.

Design & Material

The bowl is drawn wide and rounded, giving the wine maximum contact with the air, while the slightly tapered rim gathers the dark berry and spice notes just before they reach your nose. The thin rim is barely noticeable against your lips - a detail Riedel has carried over from its hand-blown collections into Veritas.

Use & Recommendation

The glass is the natural choice for full-bodied reds such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and other Bordeaux blends, though it works well with most robust reds in general.
