Penderyn Icons of Wales No 13 is a special release in the acclaimed Icons of Wales series, where Penderyn pays tribute to significant cultural and historical milestones in Wales. This bottling marks the 10th anniversary of Bad Wolf Studios in Cardiff, one of the country’s most successful film and television studios, and the whisky is therefore naturally 10 years old. It is fully matured in old Tawny Port pipes that previously held port wine for around 60 years, giving it a deep and complex character with pronounced fruit notes and warm spices.

The aroma opens with floral tones such as orange blossom and rose petals, followed by fruitcake, red raisins and fig marmalade. The palate is rich and well‑balanced with dark stewed fruits, lighter fresh fruit notes, toffee, marzipan and a gently bittersweet marmalade profile. The finish is long and elegant with dried apricot, salted caramel and a hint of nutmeg, offering a refined and slightly dry conclusion.

The Bad Wolf release was created in close collaboration between Penderyn and Bad Wolf Studios, where the studio’s team personally selected the casks directly from the distillery’s warehouse. The bottle design was developed by Penderyn’s regular designer Lauren Tutssel and features, for the first time, the iconic wolf in a howling pose as a visual tribute to the studio’s name and identity.
