Bårelegs is inspired by the Norwegian king Magnus II, who earned the nickname when he became the first Norwegian king to fight wearing a kilt alongside the Celts in Scotland at the end of the 11th century. Behind the series stand the Islay Boys, Donald Mackenzie and Mackay Smith, both from whisky's famous Rhinns peninsula.
