Juniper berries hand-foraged just 5 metres from the Sardinian coastline are used fresh, not dried, in this small batch gin from Silvio Carta.
Expert's description
Boigin Gin is an Italian Small Batch Dry Gin from Sardinia, bottled at 40%.
Silvio Carta founded his distillery in Baratili San Pietro on Sardinia in the 1950s, and Boigin is 100% Sardinian-made.
The gin is built on wild-growing juniper berries hand-foraged along the coast and used fresh in the distillation, together with the Sardinian herbs myrtle, lentischio, sage and elicriso (Helichrysum italicum).
Botanicals are sourced from both the scenic Sinis Peninsula and the distillery's own botanical garden, giving the gin a distinctly local character.
