Thy Whisky No 20 Maltmod is a single malt whisky shaped and created by experiments in Thy Whisky's own maltings. It is characterized by a rich and alluring aroma of caramel, which stems from experiments in their maltings with dark 'caramel malts', which otherwise hardly ever find their way into traditional whisky production. The intense 'Cara' new make has been aged in 12 small bourbon octaves (50 liters), then larger bourbon casks, and finally blended with two oloroso casks, which have then been given time to accumulate in the barrels.

The result is a whisky with great vanilla sweetness and intense burnt caramel with underlying fruit notes. On the nose, there are notes of leather and cedar with a faint hint of tobacco. The taste starts with sweet vanilla toffee, nougat and a little pickled fruit and ends in burnt caramel with a hint of cloves and oak. Thy Whisky No 20 Maltmod 50cl / 53,4% Danish Single Malt Whisky Distillery Bottling Only 1634 bottles. matured in Ex-oloroso sherry and bourbon barrelsThy Whisky was born out of the idea of making a distinctive whisky from the good organic grain that they grow themselves on their family farm Gyrup here in Thy. And chasing new flavor notes by working with old and new grain varieties in their malting process. After the warm reception of their first whiskies, Thy Whisky has spent the last 2-3 years dedicated to adding more barrels to the warehouse and taking more and more of the production into their own hands. After six months of construction and installation, they are now close to reaching the next big milestone. They have officially opened their Gårdmalteri - which will be the first of its kind in Denmark. It will supply Thy Whisky as well as other microbreweries and distilleries across the country with organic malt.
