Two extra years in oak casks give this Savanna a deeper, more toasted character than its 5-year-old little sibling – still carrying the distinct Réunion signature.

    Expert Description

Savanna 7 Year Rhum Vieux Traditionnel is a Rum from La Réunion matured for a minimum of 7 years in oak casks and bottled at 43%.

The rum belongs to Savanna's Traditionnel series and is based on molasses from La Réunion in the Indian Ocean. The extra two years of maturation compared to the distillery's 5-year expression give the rum a deeper, more toasted complexity with more pronounced notes of roasted wood and dark caramel.

Deep and creamy with vanilla, caramel and briny tones, opening with molasses, coffee and dark caramel, complemented by roasted and burnt wood notes.

    Palate

Crisp and clean with floral and sweet tones of vanilla, tropical fruit and a hint of coffee, where the attack reveals green banana and olive with heavy, fruity aromas and notes of fireplace and caramelised pecans.

    Finish

Dry and intense finish with a smooth, creamy conclusion.
