Named after a Brazilian aviation pioneer, Santos Dumont Heritage unites molasses rum from several continents with cachaça from the home country in one ambitious bottle.
Expert Description
Santos Dumont Heritage Hors d'Age is a Brazil Rum, a blend assembled by Santos Dumont Spirits and bottled at 43.8%.
The master blender behind the bottle combines molasses-based rum from the West Indies, Brazil and Central America with cachaça from Brazil, distilled from fresh sugar cane juice. The brand is named after Santos Dumont, the Brazilian-born aviation pioneer who became famous in the early 1900s for his early flying machines, and the Heritage edition is the house's most ambitious take on how rum and cachaça can be united in one complex blend.
The result is a sweet, earthy rum with depth from tobacco, leather and tropical fruit.
