Puerto Rico's oldest rum brand is still made in small batches, using the same recipe the Fernández family has used since 1880.
Expert description
Ron del Barrilito ** is a Rum from Puerto Rico, matured 3 to 5 years in white oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry in Jerez, bottled at 43%.
The rum is hand-crafted in small batches at Hacienda Santa Ana in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, by the Fernández family, who have distilled rum under the brand since 1880, making Ron del Barrilito the island's oldest still-produced rum brand. The rum is made using the old maceration process, in which a small portion of the rum is infused with a blend of dried fruits and spices before maturation, giving it its characteristic flavour profile and aroma.
