Riga Black Balsam Herbal Bitter is a Latvian herbal bitter at 45% ABV, here bottled at a practical 20 cl.

The recipe is identical to the large 70 cl bottle and dates back to 1752, when pharmacist Abraham Kunze in Riga created a medicinal tonic drawing on older balsam traditions. 24 ingredients, including birch shoots, ginger, black peppercorns and honey, are infused and rested in large oak barrels before being blended according to a recipe only three people in the world know in full detail. The smaller bottle makes Riga Black Balsam an easy introduction if you want to try the style, or a travel-friendly gift for a herbal bitter lover.
