Pedro Ximénez sherry's sweet, nutty character meets the classic Planteray XO blend in this expression, marking the brand's 20th anniversary.

    Expert Description

Planteray XO 20th Anniversary PXXO Sherry Finish is a Barbadian Extra Old Rum with a final finish in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, bottled at 40%.

The rum is built on the classic Planteray XO blend from the West Indies Rum Distillery, which after its usual double maturation in bourbon and French oak casks receives an additional finish in casks that previously held Pedro Ximénez sherry. The sweet, nutty PX character adds an extra dimension of dried fruit and depth to the already complex XO blend, marking the brand's 20th anniversary.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Sweet and spicy scent of coconut and vanilla, followed by honey-like notes, English Christmas cake, tobacco and banana, complemented by floral and spicy notes as well as caramel and toffee.

    Palate

Big, full and sweet on the tongue with notes of coconut, chocolate, prunes and coffee, where caramel and a hint of spice follow along.

    Finish

The PX finish gives nutty notes with dried raisins followed by a soft, inviting conclusion.
