After distillation, Olmeca Reposado is left to rest in used bourbon barrels, where the golden colour and soft, smoky notes slowly work their way into the tequila. It’s the same raw agave power as the Silver expression, just rounded off with a little time and a little oak.
Expert Description
Olmeca Reposado is a Mexican Reposado Tequila made from blue agave and rested for at least 5 months in used bourbon oak barrels at 35% ABV.
Like Olmeca Silver, it is distilled by Destilería Colonial de Jalisco in the Los Altos highlands, where the Olmeca brand has produced tequila since 1967 — today as part of Pernod Ricard. Olmeca Reposado is a Mixto tequila, a blend of blue agave and sugar syrup, but the brief rest in oak gives it a golden colour and a rounder, softer character than the clear Silver expression.

Did You Know?
Did you know Olmeca Reposado only becomes what it is after resting for at least 5 months in barrels that previously held bourbon? It’s exactly this rest — reposado means "rested" in Spanish — that gives the tequila its golden colour and rounded character.
