An experimental test batch of Myken Destilleri's well-known Sommergin, bottled at a slightly lower strength than the original and intended to test the gin's pairing with Japanese cuisine.
Expert's description
Myken Arktisk Sommergin Special Test Edition Sushi is a Norwegian gin from Myken Destilleri, bottled at 43%.
The gin is built on the same local botanicals as the distillery's regular Sommergin, including juniper, cloudberries, redcurrants, blueberries, crowberries, sorrel, oarweed, meadowsweet, adder's fern, scots lovage, rhubarb, rose root and sea buckthorn, all harvested on and around the island of Myken.
This edition is a limited test batch, bottled at a lower strength than the regular Sommergin, and was originally intended as an experimental pairing for sushi.
As a small experimental release from the remote distillery on Myken, it offers a rare glimpse into the distillery's ongoing exploration of new styles.
