Mosgaard Black Palo 2026 is a Danish single malt with a distinctly dark colour from the cask and a concentrated character that only a small 64‑liter barrel can create. The whisky opens with deep notes of dark raisins, dried fruits, walnuts and a clear sweetness. There are also layers of dark chocolate, orange peel and a lightly spiced wood note that reflect both age and cask type. The high strength lifts the aromas and gives an intense, warm aromatic profile.

The palate is full, rich and oily. The Palo Cortado cask brings powerful notes of dried fruit, figs, caramel and dark syrup, while the distillate itself contributes malt depth, spice and a subtle nutty tone. The high alcohol strength of 59.8% gives pronounced warmth, but it is well integrated and carries the flavour without overwhelming the nuances. Hints of cinnamon, roasted almonds and a deep, almost wine‑like sweetness also appear.

The finish is long, warm and persistent with dark fruits, sherry, oak and a light bitterness from the cask that balances the sweetness. The small cask size has accelerated maturation and created a whisky with both depth and intensity without feeling over‑aged. It is a powerful, sherry‑driven dram with clear identity and strong complexity.
