Three kinds of beans, one heavy stout - Lervig from Stavanger has built 3 Bean Stout around a simple idea: coffee shouldn't just sit on top of the beer, it should be part of its backbone.
Expert description of Lervig 3 Bean Stout
Lervig is one of Norway's most acclaimed breweries, known for an experimental approach to especially strong stouts. 3 Bean Stout is the brewery's take on an imperial stout, where the name refers to the use of three different coffee beans in the brewing process. At 12% ABV, it is a powerful beer offering marked depth and complexity.
The roasted malt base provides a solid foundation of dark chocolate and roasted grain, while the three coffee varieties layer on further dimensions of coffee character - from bright, tart fruitiness to deep, bitter roast. The result is a full, intense stout built for slow enjoyment.
