From one of Normandy's most respected Calvados producers comes a gin where apple plays just as big a role as juniper.
Expert's description
Le Gin de Christian Drouin is a French small batch gin from the Calvados house Christian Drouin, bottled at 42%.
The gin is built on eight botanicals, seven of which, ginger, Madagascar vanilla, lemon, cardamom, Indonesian cinnamon, almonds and rose petals, belong to the aromatic world of Calvados, while juniper is the eighth.
The base is distilled from 30 different apple varieties that Drouin normally uses for its Calvados, and each botanical is distilled separately before being blended in unique proportions for each batch.
Christian Drouin is a respected Calvados family in Normandy, and the gin is a natural extension of the house's expertise in apple distillation.
