There is a Cuervo that has never seen a barrel and still tastes like decades of experience. Platino is the family's private expression of agave in its purest form — grown, harvested and distilled using a method only a handful of people in Jalisco know in full detail.
Expert Description
José Cuervo Platino is a Mexican Blanco Tequila (100% Agave), bottled at 40% ABV. It is distilled at La Rojeña in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, and belongs to José Cuervo's "Reserva de la Familia" line — a range originally made solely for the family's and friends' own table.
Platino is made exclusively from 100% organically grown Blue Weber Agave, yeast and water, through a production method called "Esencia de Agave" — a technique José Cuervo has refined over two centuries. The method is designed to preserve the agave's original aroma and character, without the tequila ever touching a barrel.
