Adelphi has a reputation for bottling only the casks that truly deserve it – with just 177 bottles from this single refill bourbon barrel, this Glenlossie is one of the rarest names in our Scottish range.

    Expert's Description

Glenlossie 2011/2025 Adelphi Selection 13 Year Old is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at cask strength, 59.9%.

Distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2025 by Adelphi Selection, from a refill bourbon barrel, cask number 35429. The long years in cask have given the whisky an elegant oak imprint and a soft, rich character, without losing its complexity.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Soft oak and caramel meet a light sweetness of honey and ripe apple. The high strength gives a clear, but not sharp, spice.

    Palate

Rich and full, with toffee, roasted nuts and a warm, peppery spice. The 13 years in cask have added good depth without taking over.

    Finish

Long and warm, with lingering oak and a last hint of honeyed sweetness.

Frequently asked questions about Glenlossie 2011/2025 Adelphi Selection 13 Year Old

    What makes this Glenlossie special?

With only 177 bottles from a single refill bourbon barrel, this is one of the rarest Glenlossie releases we've carried.

    Is this whisky smoky?

No, Glenlossie is unpeated. The 13 years in cask gave oak and caramel, not smoke.

    Should I add water?

At 59.9%, a few drops of water can nicely soften the strength and bring out the rich toffee and nut notes.

    What is Adelphi Selection?

It's a respected Scottish independent bottler with roots dating back to 1826, known for choosing rare, characterful casks from across Scotland.

    Is this whisky worth it?

With only 177 bottles from a single cask, this is a rare chance to taste a mature, powerful Glenlossie in its unfiltered form.

    What glass suits it best?

A nosing glass best gathers the oak and caramel aromas and makes it easier to follow the long, warm finish.
