Expert's Description GlenAllachie 12 Year 2013 Single Cask is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky at cask strength 61.7%, distilled in 2013 and bottled from a single cask, Cask No. 4385, after 12 years of maturation.
Because the whisky comes from one cask alone, it carries the imprint of that cask's history — no smoothing from other casks, no compromises. The high strength means every drop concentrates the aromas markedly, and a few drops of water can open up even more layers.
GlenAllachie has made single cask bottlings something of a signature activity under Billy Walker's leadership, where each cask is assessed individually before being released on its own rather than folded into a larger batch.
