Spring arrives cautiously in Farre, with tender shoots and the first bright evenings after a long Jutland winter. Fary Lochan Forårssnaps captures exactly that moment, when the cold loosens its grip and saffron sends the mind toward warmer climates.
The Expert's Description
Fary Lochan Forårssnaps is a Danish snaps bottled at 36% ABV from the Fary Lochan distillery in Farre near Give.
The distillery was founded in December 2009 by Jens-Erik Jørgensen, who had dreamed of creating a Danish whisky with a character all its own. Today Fary Lochan is a family-owned distillery with around 400 shareholders, producing whisky and gin alongside a range of snaps and liqueurs built on local ingredients.
The Spring Snaps is built on local and organic spices and herbs, composed to deliver exactly the freshness associated with the first days of spring. Saffron is the defining element, giving the snaps a warm, golden edge that turns the mind toward more southern climates, even though it's brewed in the middle of Jutland.

Did You Know?
Fary Lochan takes its name from founder Jens-Erik Jørgensen's fascination with Scottish whisky culture, even though the distillery itself sits in the small village of Farre in the middle of Jutland, far from the Scottish highlands.
