The same signature three botanicals as the rest of the ELG range, just turned up in intensity: No 3 is Stonge Grange's take on a Navy Strength gin, where the power is as pronounced as the minimalism.
Expert's description
ELG Gin No 3 Navy Strength is a Danish Dry Gin distilled at Stonge Grange and bottled at 57.2%.
Like ELG No 1 and No 2, No 3 is built exclusively on juniper, coriander seed and Danish carrots, with the whole carrot, including the green tops, going into the distillation.
The Navy Strength designation historically comes from the British Navy, where gin was bottled at a strength that ensured gunpowder would still ignite even if it was spilled with gin.
The high alcohol strength brings out the three botanicals even more clearly than in the milder expressions, giving a more intense, concentrated take on Stonge Grange's minimalist philosophy.
