The Shed Distillery in Ireland lets gunpowder tea meet a rare Sardinian citrus fruit called Sa Pompìa, which gives a softer, more floral citrus character than regular lemon or lime.
Expert's description
Drumshanbo Gunpowder Sardinian Citrus Irish Gin is an Irish gin from The Shed Distillery, bottled at 43%.
The gin's signature botanical is Citrus Mostruosa, a rare Sardinian citrus fruit also known as Sa Pompìa, which gives a softer and more aromatic citrus character than regular lemon or lime.
Together with gunpowder tea, a rolled green tea, the citrus fruit adds a subtle hint of smoke, spice and herbaceousness to the gin's underlying character.
The gin builds on The Shed Distillery's original Gunpowder Irish Gin recipe, but shifts the focus towards a brighter, more citrus-driven profile.
