Vine flower, hawthorn and white peach - Daniel Bouju Premiers Arômes smells more of spring than of cognac's usual heavy notes. This is a cognac built on freshness rather than weight.
Expert's Description
Daniel Bouju Premiers Arômes is a French Cognac from Grande Champagne, aged in old Limousin oak casks and bottled at 40%.
The cognac is made exclusively from Ugni Blanc grapes at the small family house Daniel Bouju in Saint-Preuil. Where many of the house's other expressions rest in new casks, Premiers Arômes is instead left in old Limousin casks, which gives a more restrained, subtle cask influence.
The cognac is unfiltered and entirely free of added caramel colouring, giving an authentic expression where the grape's own floral aromas are allowed to take centre stage.
