Créole Shrubb is the house's take on an old Martinique tradition, where bitter orange peel is left to steep in rum for a full year, not just a couple of weeks.
Expert Description
Clément Créole Shrubb D'Orange is a Martinique Rum Liqueur flavoured with orange peel and bottled at 40%.
The base is a blend of young and six-year-old cask-aged rhum agricole from Habitation Clément, which is combined and then aged with orange peels in 250-litre oak casks for a full year. That's an unusually long maceration period for a shrubb liqueur, giving the orange aromas time to penetrate deep into the rum before the blend is sweetened with natural cane syrup and bottled.
The result is a liqueur where both the bitter and sweet sides of the orange come through, supported by a distinct spice profile from the long cask ageing.
