Exclusive rum range from Bristol Spirits, owned by John Barrett, whose family has been indirectly involved in the wine and spirits business for many generations as owners of pubs and hotels. The vast majority of rum brands today are industrial products and rum is produced all over the world, although it was originally a product of the Caribbean, Central and South America.

John Barrett (re)discovered the small local rum producers in the Caribbean islands and began buying individual casks and importing them to his cellar just outside Bristol. As mentioned, the humid and cool climate has a positive influence on the maturation of the barrel contents. Furthermore, Barret only bottles very small quantities from individual producers, so his products are not a blend of hundreds of casks from different producers and therefore represent the differences in production equipment, raw materials and process.
