Boulder Spirits Peated Malt American Single Malt Whiskey is made from Scottish peated malt and matured in freshly charred, virgin American oak casks, bottled at 46%. Boulder Spirits was founded by Scotsman Alastair Brogan, who moved to Colorado in 2011 and started the distillery as Vapor Distillery. The goal was to create a single malt whiskey 'unique to Colorado with a Scottish accent'. The distillery installed one of Colorado's largest copper pot stills and helped establish the American Single Malt Whiskey category, which was only officially recognised in the US in 2025.
