Big Peat 33 years Cognac & Sherry aged on its way to Denmark

Read more about Big Peat's new 33rd anniversary edition in this blog post

The oldest edition in the Big Peat whisky series at 33 years old

At the time of writing, there are a few bottles on their way to Denmark of this very special 33-year-old edition of the famous whisky brand from Douglas Laing called Big Peat. It has been Cognac & Sherry Finished and the different new make (Big Peat is always a Blended Malt Whisky, i.e. whisky from different distilleries put together into a unique blend) was distilled back in 1985 and bottled 33 years later with an alcohol percentage of 47.2% Abv. It is a very Limited Edition with only 1,500 bottles, of which only 15 bottles will be exclusive to Whisky.dk/ Denmark.

Fred Laing, the creator of Big Peat and CEO of Douglas Laing says:

About Big Peat:

The whisky consists of single malts from different Islay distilleries.
The result is exceptional. A complex blended malt. In technical terms, the whiskies are 'married', and here with a BIG PEAT kick.
The whisky is smoked whisky with salty sea and smoke notes. Whisky connoisseurs will notice that great care has been taken to bring the taste of the sea to this fisherman's whisky.
Truly a true sailor's whisky. Every Christmas they release a limited edition called Big Peat Christmas which is bottled at full cask strength and often ends up being a collector's item.
