The original recipe that invented an entire category of spirits.

    Expert description

Baileys the Original Irish Cream Liqueur is the classic recipe from 1974, bottled in a smaller 35 cl bottle at 17%.

Baileys was created in 1974 by a team led by Tom Jago at Gilbeys of Ireland in the English town of Harlow, as the very first Irish Cream product on the market. The name R.A. Bailey is fictional and inspired by Bailey's Hotel in London. The characteristic cream still comes from the Glanbia dairy in County Cavan, and today around 82 million bottles of Baileys are sold annually in over 160 countries.

    Taste

The nose is creamy with cream, cocoa and a hint of whiskey. On the palate, Baileys the Original Irish Cream Liqueur offers cream, chocolate and a soft sweetness, while the finish is medium-length, creamy and lightly whiskey-toned.
