Not every gathering calls for a full bottle on the table. This small 35cl edition of Aalborg Taffel is just as sharp and characterful as its bigger sibling, only sized for the smaller occasion - or for taking along.

    The Expert's Description

Aalborg Taffel Akvavit here comes in a 35cl bottle at a robust 45% ABV, a stronger expression of the classic caraway akvavit that dates back to 1846.

Like the full-size 70cl bottle, it is distilled from caraway seed and builds on Isidor Henius's original recipe, but the higher strength gives it a more intense, direct character.

The compact format makes it a natural choice as a gift, for a smaller gathering, or as a sturdy travel companion, without compromising on the classic Aalborg taste.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

The aroma is intense and clean with a pronounced caraway character that feels sharper than in the milder 41% edition.

    Palate

The palate is powerful and characterful with distinct caraway upfront, backed by the higher strength.

    Finish

The finish is long and warming, with a discreet hint of orange behind the lingering caraway character.
