The world's first rum spiced with dandelion root comes from an English gin house that put its juniper aside to rescue surplus produce from becoming food waste.
Expert Description
Warner's Trash & Treasure Spiced Botanical Rum is a Jamaica Rum-based Spirit Drink, a Jamaican rum base flavoured with botanical ingredients before and after distillation, bottled at 40%.
Trash & Treasure is Warner's Distillery's sustainability project, founded by Tom and Tina Warner on their farm in Harrington, Northamptonshire, where the rum is spiced with ingredients that would otherwise have gone to waste, including dandelion root, overripe bananas and discarded citrus peels. The dandelion root is harvested, dried and roasted by Warner's themselves, making this the world's first rum flavoured with the plant.
The result is an intensely flavourful, spiced rum with a surprising earthy depth from the dandelion root.
