From the vineyards near Nuits-Saint-Georges, where the Vedrenne family has for a century macerated fruit into pure, honest liqueurs, comes this soft and full-bodied banana liqueur with a flavour so pure it almost tastes like ripe banana sliced straight into the glass.

    Ekspertens beskrivelse

Vedrenne's Creme de Banane is a French banana liqueur at 25% ABV, produced by Vedrenne in Nuits-Saint-Georges from macerated bananas.

Vedrenne was founded in 1923 by the engineer Joseph Védrenne, who deliberately located the distillery in Nuits-Saint-Georges close to Burgundy's blackcurrant fields. The company pioneered single-fruit maceration and, from the 1950s under Joseph's grandsons, expanded the range to include tropical fruits such as banana. Vedrenne is still family-run today and in 2017 was awarded the French "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" distinction for its unbroken craft tradition.

    Smag

The nose offers ripe banana, light vanilla and a mild tropical sweetness. The palate is full and soft with clear banana up front, followed by a light caramelised note that adds depth and balance without becoming overly sweet.

    Vidste du at?

Vedrenne was founded just two years after Luxardo relocated its production, but while Luxardo focused on Mediterranean cherries, Joseph Védrenne bet from the start on macerating single fruits from Burgundy and later the whole world - a method that remains the house's trademark today.
