Torbreck Vintners GMS 2019 is a Red Wine from Australia made from a blend of Grenache Noir, Mataro (Mourvèdre) and Shiraz, bottled at 15% ABV.
Torbreck was founded to honour and rejuvenate the Barossa Valley's ancient vineyards, and the house is known precisely for Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro from old, unirrigated vines. The GMS cuvée is tank-aged and shows a fresh, pure fruit character rather than heavy oak influence.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Dark blackberry, black olive and a hint of pepper and spice.
Palate
Full-bodied and juicy with ripe dark fruit and a firm, silky tannin structure.
Finish
Long with a spicy, lightly peppery close.
Serving & Food Pairing
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass. Pairs with roast leg of lamb, beef tenderloin and spiced stews.
